Eva Gutierrez, 62, of Morganton, NC, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022. Born in Mexico on May 15, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Jose Diaz Salazar and Maria Guadalupe Ortiz Gonzales. Eva was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
Eva is survived by her husband, Arturo Gutierrez-Varela; son, Jorge Gutierrez; daughters, Guadalupe Gutierrez and Patrisia Gutierrez; grandchildren, Christopher Hilario, Anthony Hilario, Diego Hilario, Kevin Hilario, Brandon Hilario, Dallas Greene, Houston Greene, and Isabella Greene; brother, Rafael Diaz; and sisters, Rosario Nava, Celia Diaz, and Eva Becerra.
In addition her parents, Eva was preceded in death by three brothers, Manuel Diaz, Jesus Maria Diaz, and Florencio Diaz.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 3 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. The funeral Mass will follow at 3 p.m. in the church with Father Ken Whittington officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
