Charles Bynum Hughes, 32, of Morganton, NC, left this world to fly with the angels on Saturday, September, 22, 2018. He was born on July 31, 1986 in Burke County to Charles D. Hughes and Elizabeth Coffey Peeler. He worked for Kirby Maintenance. Charles grew up in the Baptist faith and was a hardworking and loving husband who truly loved his family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Hughes and grandson, Grayson Thomas Waters.
Surviving, along with his parents, are his wife, Lisa Hendrix Hughes; children, Kimberly Burns, Keith Michael Burns, Cheyenne Rain Burns and two other loving sons; four grandchildren; brothers, Joshua Roy Hughes and Terry Michael Peeler; maternal grandparents, Duie and Anita Coffey; aunts, Renee Greene, Tessie Norman and Norma Speagle; uncles, Darryl Hughes, Randy Speagle, Larry Greene, Steve Norman and Burdette Hughes; special cousin, Marty Cook.
The Celebration of Charles’ Life will be at 2:00pm, Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Arney’s Fairview United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Arney’s Fairview United Methodist Church, 3312 Piedmont Road, Morganton, NC 28655, to assist with funeral expenses.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
