Bonnie Gibbs Butler, 89, of Butler Hollow Lane, Glen Alpine, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 29, 2008 at Grace Hospital. She was born in Burke County on February 20, 1919 and was a daughter of the late Paul Gibbs and Mattie Williams Gibbs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Butler; a son, Bobby Butler and a brother, Frank Gibbs. Bonnie was a member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church and was devoted to her church and to her family.Surviving are her sons, Jerry Butler and his wife, Sybil of Glen Alpine, Paul "Buck" Butler and his wife, Linda; a daughter, Elizabeth "Lib" Epley and her husband, Paul all of Morganton; eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and two great great-great grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church with Rev. P. Dean Lavender officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sossoman Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at her residence, 114 Butler Hollow Lane, Morganton. Memorial contributions may be made to Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church Piano Fund, P.O.
